Murva wines
Wines are windows on the vineyards: each wine conveys with amazing accuracy what its vineyard so generously succeeds in yielding.
How does this come about? Answer: with the least degree possible of human intervention. Man’s few decisions are limited to where and what variety to plant, then he respects the desire of nature and allows it to express itself as it pleases. This the reason why our wines can be called natural wines.
Man’s daily presence in the vineyard is the absolute requirement for understanding what the vineyards needs—pruning, suckering, nutrition from natural or pelleted manure, nothing else.
We practice total cover-cropping and management of the spontaneous weed cover, which is mown or mulched in. No weed-killer. The result is soil rich in humus and organic material, filled with insects and life.
We use no anti-pest treatments, so zero impact on the winegrower, on nature, and on the consumer.
No intervention, either, in the winemaking process, just simple, uncompromising maturation, with the wine spending a lengthy period on the fine lees, without any filtration, followed by a further 12 months of bottle-ageing to achieve sensory balance and to reduce still further the very low level of SO2.
